What's Buzzing and Happening in Temburong?
The new Bumiputera complex in Bangar Temburong was swarmed with people from all over Temburong for the Riang Ria Daerah Temburong which was organised by the Youth and Sports Department Temburong in co-operation with Kelab Pusat Belia Daerah Temburong. The event started at 7 o'clock in the mo
rning and by the time I arrived in Bangar, It was difficult to find an empty parking space to park my car as I needed to see my six year old brother, Izz, who was involved in the drawing competition. Soon, I gave up looking for a parking space near the building and I parked my car near the tamu area instead (which means I had to walk a bit!). But I was a bit disappointed as I couldn't take photos of my brother because the drawing competition was already over! Nevertheless, we stayed to wait for the prize 
presentation. While waiting we went to the river bank to watch people fishing as the fishing competition was still on. When we were back at the Bumiputra building, waiting, the announcer (a guy from Persatuan Belia Temburong) quizzed some people from the crowd. The prizes were not bad! When that was over, the announcer announced that some local artistes from Bandar Seri Begawan were coming to promote their compilation album! So, many people who were about to leave stayed. Not long after, at about 10.30 am, two DJs from the No. 1 radio In Brunei, DJ Didi and DJ Zati of Pelangi FM, opened the show! People were excited and thrilled! Faiz, Fairuzneezan, Fakhrul Razi and Sri Nazrina and Hans Anuar were in Temburong this morning to promote 'Seperti yang lain'. For the opening act, Sri Nazrina (we were in the same school together and today, we were introduced by Cg. Rustiah who also used to teach in our school) sang he song from the compilation CD. She was not only pretty but had a beautiful voice. Then came another local songbird, Fairuzneezan. Like Sri, she was pretty and had a good voice. After her, Faiz came on stage and sang his song from the CD and after him came the fun Fakhrul Razi. He even pulled a couple of girls to dance with him! Overall, the show was fantastic! The singers were awesome and the people especially the children seemed to enjoy them (or just wanting to grab free posters from their hands!!) In between of the singing performances, DJ Didi and DJ Zati called people from the audience randomly and ask them questions about the CD and the artistes. I too was pulled from the audience by DJ Zati and I also took Izz with me! We stood in the middle of the crowd and DJ Zati started to ask me questions. She asked for my name and I said Nazri. She also asked whether I was a local or not and I said 'yes' that I was a local and lived in Kampong Negalang. She also wanted to know what was unique about my Kampong. And I answered every Kampong in Temburong was the same! (Do you think that answered her question??) She also asked me what do I think about such an event and I answered It was a happening one and very seldom in Temburong had an event like that! The last question she asked me what was another popular thing in Temburong and come from Temburong besides Wajid Jawa (a very popular delicacy amongst Bruneians) and I answered Cendol Temburong and she agreed! DJ Zati was very nice! So, in return, she gave me souvenirs which comprised of a poster, a calender of Farawahida and Media Hiburan! Hopefully I would get a call to collect 'Seperti yang lain' CD! After that was done, there was the autograph signing session. However, we didn't manage to get our poster signed (Maybe next time guys?). When that was over, the children who joined the drawing competition were called to sit in front of the stage for the prize presentation. My brother, Izz, didn't receive any but our cousin, Taufiq, received one (and it is his birthday today!) By the time it was over, the time was already around 12 pm. I would like to say congratulations and a BIG 'thank you' to the organisers of Riang Ria Daerah Temburong for organising such an event for the locals and also a big shout out to Pelangi FM, and the artistes who came to promote the compilation CD, 'Seperti yang lain'. Thank you for the fantastic show! It was a very memorable one! Overall it was a five-star day!! I have taken some photos which I've posted for you to enjoy!
